Monias Consulting & Projects is an Indigenous and Two-Spirit–led consultancy specializing in strategic planning, project management, and community development. Founded in 2025, the firm supports organizations and Nations in turning vision into action through thoughtful collaboration, cultural integrity, and results-driven practice.
Grounded in the 7 Sacred Teachings and guided by a trauma-aware, relationship-based approach, our work bridges professionalism with purpose. About Michael B. Monias
Michael B. Monias (he/him) is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Monias Consulting & Projects, a Two-Spirit–led Indigenous consultancy rooted in community, culture, and purpose.
A proud member of Norway House Cree Nation, Michael believes that good work comes from honesty and showing up as you are, doing what you say you’ll do, and building things that mean something. His approach to consulting is both structured and soulful: he uses the discipline of project management and the spirit of storytelling to bring ideas to life.
Michael’s professional background includes experience in economic development, project planning, and community partnerships, as well as certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). But it’s his journey through recovery, identity, and self-leadership that truly defines his work. Those experiences taught him that real progress whether personal or professional is relational. It’s built through trust, humility, and the courage to start again.
Today, Michael continues to serve his community as an Economic Development Officer with the Norway House Cree Nation - Economic Development Group, supporting projects that create opportunity and growth for his Nation. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Sunshine House Inc., a Winnipeg-based community space rooted in harm reduction, inclusion, and joy further reflecting his commitment to wellness, visibility, and community care.
His goal is to create pathways for Indigenous leadership, self-determination, and healing to shape the future of our communities
